Students in grades K-8 must demonstrate excellence in: school work, attendance, behavior, and extracurricular activities during selected months of the school year. Students are then rewarded by attending a special field trip with Charlie.

ruMAD? is a dynamic mix of education, action, advocacy and events. Think of ruMAD? as a toolkit that enables young people to lead social change and become active citizens. It is focused on values and led by students but benefits the whole community.

Charlie has leads the Best of the Batch Foundation's "Batch A Toys" toy drive. During the drive, Charlie collects new, unwrapped toys to be distributed to less fortunate kids. Charlie and Latasha then personally deliver the toys to the Women's Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh, Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and financially challenged families in Allegheny County.

Charlie Batch is a national spokesperson for the Dignity & Respect Campaign for Youth, an initiative focused on promoting positive behaviors in K-12 schools and youth programs. Students are encouraged to “treat everyone with dignity and respect,” as well as participate in activities that encourage dignity, respect and anti-bullying behaviors throughout the year.
